Weather warning MCP server for German cities (DWD)

Official warnings of the German Weather Service for 84 major cities directly in your AI assistant, through the free, key-free MCP tool by InfraNode. No API key, no installation.

What the MCP tool does

With resource='weather-warnings' the tool returns the currently valid warnings of a city with severity level, event type, period and instruction. The assistant can answer a question about the weather situation with the official warning instead of a guess.

Use it in Claude or ChatGPT

Connect the InfraNode MCP server to your AI client once (see set up the MCP server). After that a natural-language question is enough, the assistant calls the get_city_resource tool itself:

Are there any severe weather warnings for Stuttgart right now?

The MCP server is free, keyless and remote over Streamable HTTP at https://mcp.infranode.dev/mcp. No API key, no install.

Prefer the REST API?

The same data is also available without an AI agent as a classic REST API, also free and keyless.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly do new warnings reach the assistant?
The warning situation is reconciled every minute. If the source briefly fails, the tool serves the last known state and marks it instead of reporting nothing at all.
Does this include disaster warnings?
Not here. For civil protection warnings there is resource='civil-protection-warnings', based on the warning system of the Federal Office of Civil Protection.
