What the MCP tool does
With resource='solar' the tool returns the climatological irradiation and the expected annual yield per kilowatt peak for a city's location. The assistant can answer yield questions without anyone opening a PV calculator.

Frequently asked questions
- Are these readings from today?
- No. PVGIS provides a climatological multi-year average, that is the long-term expected yield. For current weather there is the separate weather tool.
- Does the value apply to my roof?
- It applies to the city location under standard assumptions. Roof pitch, orientation and shading are not included; the solar cadastre of individual federal states covers that.
